Free appreciation supper served tonight

The annual Civic Club Customer Appreciation supper will be tonight (Thursday) at the Underwood City Hall, from 5-7 p.m.

The annual event is an opportunity for Underwood’s Civic Club member businesses to say a little thank you to their customers, as well as show off what they’ve got to offer their customers by setting up booths at the City Hall.

New on the menu this year is sweet potato pancakes, to go along with the regular pancakes and sausage the Civic Club members serve up -- but the sweet potato pancake numbers are limited, so the earlier better, if you want to get some of those.

The appreciation supper was just one of the items discussed at the group’s monthly meeting on Wednesday.

The next item on the Civic Club’s to-do agenda is help with the Underwood Area Economic Development Corporation’s "Beautification Day," which is scheduled for Saturday, May 21.

Different areas of town have been designated for clean-up/spruce up projects, including painting of buildings, tree and flower planting.
