Final stretch for Bev’s Cafe
BY RALPH MANCINI
After running Turtle Lake’s sole sit-down food establishment for nearly three decades, Beverly Jesz has come to grips with the fact that she’ll soon be drawing the curtain on her business — without a successor in sight.
As of Sept. 1, Bev’s Cafe will officially be turned over to new ownership, which reportedly has no plans to use the building at 117 Main Street for commercial purposes.
Since purchasing the popular greasy spoon from Patricia and Marshall Maxwell in 1993, Jesz, 65, has not only satiated the appetites of hungry patrons, but she’s also served the community as a Meals on Wheels kitchen.
