Fest brings out community on beautiful day
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Nice days have been hard to come by this summer. Most anybody attending Harvest Fest on Saturday agreed that Saturday was a beautiful day to attend the town’s annual celebration. Hundreds attended the event put together by members of the Underwood Civic Club and the community. Fun included a 5K run that drew runners and bikers from across the county, a parade that had enough candy to fill kids’ bags to the top, games galore, food, laughter and enough music to get everybody in the mood to harvest or at least gather once again before school starts. The great Quests, including Kiddie, Tween and Adult, were all attended with folks from all over, not just Underwood. Diane Schell helped out with Tween and Adult Quests and said that numbers were good for youth. The adults were down from last year, likely because last year was the all-school reunion. The first place team in the Kiddie Quest category included Dylan Aasheim, Dawson Beck and Kale Utley. In second was Jase Utley and Kayden Hornberger. Third was Libby Heger, Leah Jacobson and Lexi Jacobson.
