Enrollment trending upward
By Cheryl Odden and Michael Johnson, BHG News Service
Numbers count – that seems especially true each fall when area school districts tally the number of students enrolled in their schools. An increase is generally perceived as a good sign. If enrollment drops, school officials also take note. First day enrollment statistics have been provided by each school district in McLean County and the Lewis & Clark School District-North Shore. At Garrison, first day enrollment in grades K-6 was 195. Enrollment at the high school, grades 7-12, was 193, an increase of 17 from end of the previous school year. Total enrollment on the first day stood at 388. An additional 32 students are enrolled in the district’s optional preschool program.
