Drowning in water issues

The issue of charging commercial businesses a higher rate for water than residential users came to the forefront at Monday night’s regular Underwood City Commission meeting, and that was just one of the topics of conversation regarding water at the meeting.
Also brought up were the prospect of the city taking the plunge and buying and installing new water meters throughout the town, and the possibility of joining forces with McLean Sheridan Rural Water to get water from the water treatment plant in Riverdale to Underwood.
The prospect of charging commercial businesses more for quantities over the base amount has been brought up before, noted Commissioner Patti Werre, but no changes were made at that time.
