County keeps up with snow-covered roads

By Danielle Abbott, BHG News Service

Looking out the window it is obvious that this is a winter to remember. McLean County has been receiving massive amounts of snow and being blinded with drifts and strong winds throughout the past two months. With all of this snow comes snow covered roads and the possibility of stranded motorists. If it snows through the night or early in the morning, it is the city and county snowplow drivers that are responsible for having roads cleared and safe for travel, no matter what time that may be. Tuesday’s McLean County Commission meeting opened with a gracious thank you from the commissioners to Ron Wagner, who attended the meeting to update the commission on this year’s winter roads. "We would all like to commend Rob and coworkers for what they have been doing out there in these conditions, and getting it done quickly," Commissioner Ron Krebsbach said. "I’m glad that you understand because there are a few people out there that don’t," Wagner said, "There are a number of people out there that we should thank because they are helping to get themselves out."
