This year’s McLean County Fair set a record for visitors one night this weekend, an especially high mark to hit as the event returned from a year’s absence.
The McLean County Fair board reported that a record number of attendees came through the fair on Friday, but couldn’t provide exact numbers. The fair, which spanned Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Underwood, welcomed back locals and tourists alike for carnival rides, a petting zoo, 4-H and FFA events and more.
The event brought in a total of $14,500 over the course of three days and the board emphasized high attendance and participation for livestock events, car races, barrel races and the carnival. The carnival set a record in sales, the board reported.
