Commission approves new hires for jail, dispatch
Two new faces and a possible promotion will be seen through the McLean County Sheriff’s Office and Dispatch Center.
During the Oct. 17 county meeting held at the courthouse in Washburn, county commissioners approved a request to hire a compliance operator for the jail.
Sheriff Jerry Kerzmann told the commissioners he would like to hire Robert Werlinger to assist in keeping the standards of the jail in good standings.
Kerzmann explained Werlinger was formerly a warden with the federal government, and worked with the state of North Dakota performing jail inspections – including inspecting McLean County’s jail in the past. He noted there are upcoming inspections in which Werlinger would be beneficial. The hours he will work will vary between 10-20 per week.
