Coleharbor Post Office ‘under study’ for closure

It’s not a done deal; the Coleharbor Post Office is not on the list of rural post offices that are getting the axe. This past Thursday, two postal officials were behind the window in the small brick building that houses the Coleharbor Post Office on the city’s Main Street. A half dozen patrons had gathered to hear what the two had to say. “As you know, we (United States Postal Service) are losing money every day – $8.5 billion last year.” That tidbit of information was provided by Wanda Cleveland, manager of post office operations, Bismarck. Cleveland assured patrons that the Coleharbor Post Office has not been targeted for closure – yet. She said, “I think you need to understand it’s just a study.”
