Cold but constructive day of beautification
By Michael Johnson, Editor
About 30 die-hard Underwood residents arose early on Saturday morning to temps in the upper 30s and a slight drizzle. While it would seem like spring cleanup wouldn’t be much fun at that moment, this group realized that the day wasn’t about them. The third annual Underwood Beautification Day was a day to give back to the community. The jobs to do seemed long and possibly dirty. There were flowers to be planted, garbage to be picked and glass to be swept. One thing was for sure – it might get messy. But in working together, the group soon found it was a fun time to make the community a better looking and clean place.
