Civic Club looking to give back

The Underwood Civic Club is trying to reinvent itself and bring some renewed excitement to the group whose goal is to encourage business and activities in Underwood, but the group struggles to find people to participate in or volunteer to help at the activities they do have.
"The idea that people have about civic club is that you get asked to donate stuff and do stuff . . . what do you get for being a member," said Ramona Capps. "They don’t feel like they get anything back.
"If we want more members, we need to give, to get," she added.
She proposed an incentive for businesses to join civic club and pay their dues – those who have their dues in by a certain deadline would be entered in a drawing to win a prize.
The group took no action on offering a prize incentive to businesses sending in their dues by a deadline, but did agree that the businesses need to get more advertising, more appreciation, for their support of the civic club’s events.
The group briefly discussed the recent Easter Egg Hunt, which was deemed a success.
