Civic club gearing up to Go Loco

This year’s Go Loco for Local promotion will be Friday, Oct. 16, with local business owners challenging one another in a chili cook-off as well as an "overall experience" competition with costumes and décor.
Last year’s winners for both the chili cook-off and the overall experience were members of the Underwood Clinic staff.
The Go Loco for Local promotion has been going on for several years, and is an opportunity for local business owners and operators to meet and greet their customers, and potential new customers, in a fun-filled atmosphere.
Last year’s Go Loco also featured a haunted house at The Rose theatre presented by the Northern Expressions Art Council. The NEAC is again hoping to present a haunted house, noted NEAC treasurer Anna Haugen, but it depends on whether or not the group gets enough adult volunteers to help with the construction and set up.
The arts council does plan to have a "kid-friendly" Halloween-oriented activity at The Rose for younger children, as well as a scary movie showing later at night at the city hall as part of the Go Loco festivities.
The Go Loco promotion was just one of the promotions the civic club discussed at Wednesday’s regular monthly meeting.
