Characteristics of a Veteran

The Turtle Lake-Mercer school held a Veteran’s Day program Friday honoring local veterans. The program included a solo trumpet performance of TAPS by junior Grace Goven, a flag folding ceremony by Miss Ziebarth’s sixth grade class, a presentation titled “Letters from Home” by Candy Schafer, Jury Administrator for North Dakota Federal Court. The event concluded with an ice cream social.
The fol lowing paragraphs were written by the fourth-grade class, finalized and typed with the help and guidance of the freshman class. The theme was to describe the characteristics of a veteran.
