Catching some ‘rays’ in Cali

Some vacations are just little more memorable than others.
Turtle Lake’s Heather Brewster will definitely remember her summer vacation visit with her mom and niece in California, after she found herself being tended to by lifeguards at Huntington Beach after she was stung by a stingray.
“It was totally crazy,” said Brewster.
She grew up going to that beach, and says she had never encountered a stingray before. She wasn’t even sure what was going on when she felt a “whap” on the top of her foot.
“We were there maybe 20 minutes and I’d just gotten in the water. I was walking in and all of a sudden I felt this ‘whap.’ I thought maybe I stepped on a crab or a crab bit me, then my foot got super hot.”
