Biffert, Syverson top afternoon entertainment for Harvest Fest

Harvest Fest is just around the corner and fest goers should be prepared for a musical afternoon under the tent. Prior to the Corn Pageant and Iron Man Contests, the Harvest Fest Committee has included afternoon musical entertainment of Quintanna Biffert who will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. Beginning at 4 p.m., Dakota Drifter, Don Syverson, Washburn, will play through the mealtime until 7 p.m. Biffert is a 17-year-old award winning music sensation from Halliday, who has wracked up a list of achievements in the country music arena. At the age of 12, she cut her first CD, opened for Carolyn Dawn Johnson, and took second place in a Colgate Country Show. Since then, Biffert has traveled across North Dakota and the U. S., singing at fairs, churches, and various events. Biffert continues to add awards to her credit. Most recently, she was named the 2009 Western Division Teenage Performer of the Year and 2009 Western Division Teenage Yodeler of the Year by the Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA), a second time recipient of the award. Biffert provides a blend of gospel, current country, and good down home singing and yodeling. Her music will be a beautiful addition to the afternoon’s events. The Dakota Drifter will provide traditional country music from 4 to 7 p.m., singing his favorites from Hank Snow, Hank Williams Sr., Willie Nelson, Lefty Frizell and Tom T. Hall.
