A benefit raffle for Amy Klain, 12-year-old daughter of Alan and Mary Klain of rural Turtle Lake, will be held at the Turtle Lake School on Tuesday, Jan. 19, during the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky vs. Underwood double header girls/boys basketball games, starting at 3 p.m., in Turtle Lake.
Amy has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
AML is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells, characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal white blood cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells.
