Anderson asks ‘Where do you want to go?’

Al Anderson had one big piece of advice to those attending last Thursday’s economic development annual meeting.
"Come up with what you want Underwood to look like five, 10 years down the road," said Anderson, North Dakota’s Department of Commerce commissioner and Underwood native.
And more importantly for now, just get everybody talking, whether its at a coffee shop or whatever, "come up with what you really want to be like," said Anderson.
"It’s really up to you – where do you want to go," he continued. "What do you want it to look like?"
The small group made up of the Underwood Area Economic Development corporation and a smattering of local residents gathered at the annual meeting had no immediate answer, but they did get plenty more to think about following Anderson and rural development director Alisa Dahl’s comments at the meeting.
Led by economic developer Wendy Spencer, the meeting highlighted the work done by the EDC, noting that the group is focusing on highlighting what Underwood has to offer now, helping its current businesses thrive, while still keeping an eye on bringing new businesses to Underwood.
