Not all is new in new addition
It took just a few days, some help from volunteer students who helped put furniture together, and the administration at the Underwood School was pretty settled into their new digs on the east side of the school.

Firefighters respond to Christmas tree fire
The Underwood Fire, Ambulance and Rescue Squad responded to a report of a Christmas tree on fire at a residence on Marion Drive Wednesday, at around 2:15 p.m.
Emergency route outlined
The two-plus feet of snow that were recently dumped on Underwood prompted the Underwood City Commission to redefine its snow emergency routes so that ambulance and fire department personnel will be able to reach residents, and be able to get out of town.
Addition unveiling this Monday
Despite less-than-ideal travel conditions recently, the construction of the new addition to the Underwood School should be ready on time, according to Underwood Superintendent Brandt Dick.
First snow brings 20-inch deluge
About 20 inches of snow fell in central North Dakota over the beginning of last week, with Underwood accumulating about 20 inches of snow and forcing school closures throughout the area for three days as winds picked up causing treacherous travel conditions.
Next project: Iron out water agreement
With this summer’s street/curb project wrapped up for the year, and last summer’s floodwater project finally wrapped up, the city commissioners had fewer people to get updates from and fewer things to discuss, making for a quicker-than-normal meeting.
School concerts on tap for two Thursdays
The students at Underwood School will be celebrating the season the next two Thursdays as the high school and elementary students present their annual holiday concerts at the Vonderheide Gymnasium.
EDC promoting ‘Shop Local Saturday’
The Underwood Area Economic Development Corporation are joining forces to do their own take on Small Business Saturday by urging folks to shop the local stores this weekend with “Shop Local Saturday.”
