Bittersweet cheers to the end of an era
The consensus was pretty much the same at both gymnasiums this past week in Turtle Lake and Underwood – those last games as Comets and Trojans were the end of an era.
Board approves uniform refund
The Turtle Lake-Mercer School Board will be refunding the more than $4200 that was recently donated to the school to purchase boys basketball uniforms after a request was made by the donor to have the money refunded.
‘We have until at least May of 2022’
While no decision has been made on the future of Great River Energy’s Coal Creek Station, one company representative has assured residents the economically challenged plant has at least two more years of operating ahead.

Board offers compromise with Jr. High co-op
In recent months, Underwood and McClusky have indicated they would like to increase the co-op to include all varsity sports, which would mean adding volleyball and boys and girls basketball.
